Clearing acne at home
What is Acne: It is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells. It is common in adults and youngsters. People with oily skin are the biggest victims of acne. It is also caused by hormonal changes.
Types of acne
Acne can be in different forms, but here are common types of acne:
- Blackheads: Open bumps on the skin that fill with excess oil and dead skin.
- Whiteheads: Bumps that remain closed by oil and dead skin.
- Papules: Small red or pink bumps that become inflamed.
- Pustules: Pimples containing pus
- Fungal acne: This type occurs when an excess of yeast develops in the hair follicles.
- Nodules: Solid pimples that are deep in your skin.
- Cysts: Pus-filled pimples.
Tips to control and clear your acne:
• Avoid intake of too much fries, as fries can trigger acne build-up. Rather substitute baked foods for fries.
• Apply egg whites with lemon juice on your face, it helps to regulate the oil your skin produces. Dilute lemon juice with little water if you have sensitive skin.
• Apply salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide on stubborn acne.
• Take enough green fruits and vegetables like cucumber, oranges, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, e.t.c
• Take enough green tea to clear your body system, as green tea is a great antioxidant
• Take enough water to hydrate your body.
• Work out often to relieve your body from stress.
• Have enough sleep, because not having enough sleep can trigger your acne to keep appearing.
• Exfoliate your skin twice every week to clear excess dirt from the skin.
• Take antibiotics like tetracycline or doxycycline with blood tonic to fight bacteria in your blood cell.
• Wash your face thrice daily with face wash.
• Avoid using bar soaps on your face as most bar soaps contain ingredients that are not good for your face.
• Steam your face with hot water in other to unclog pores.
